Seattle Perennial Garden In Afternoon Sunlight
by Skynnard on August 3, 2011 in Blog with 1 CommentYesterday afternoon I walked outside to water the garden and the light was so inspiring I had to grab my macro lens and capture these Dr. Seuss-like creatures. This particular perennial is named: Monarda didym. More commonly called ‘Jacob Cline’. I planted it specifically because it is a particular favorite of hummingbirds. The summer show has not been disappointing, several times a day the hummingbirds can be found gorging on its nectar.

by Skynnard on October 31, 2009 in Blog, Image Galleries with No CommentsToday I went to my granddaughters last soccer game of the season and boy what a difference in the weather. When I downloaded the images from the soccer game Iwas pleased to find this image of a maple tree ablaze with color against a beautiful blue afternoon Fall sky. I had taken this image a few weeks ago when I was driving down Ravenna Blvd and it reminded me how incredible the Fall season has been this year. Of course with the end of the season comes the beginning of the Great Fall rake up and garden winterization. Happy gardening all!
