Today was one of those glorious remaining Fall days here in Seattle. Warm enough to be outside in shirt sleeves and feel the sun on your face and soak up some of that vitamin C and D.
I decided to spend the afternoon in the garden tending to some much needed raking and weeding and that is where I discovered this magnificent mushroom. The light illuminating this enormous (about 7 inches across) specimen was a really great low Fall afternoon light, the type that creates dramatic side lighting.
I have no idea what this particular mushroom is but I really enjoyed photographing it with my macro lens.
