This image of the Super Moon rising over the Seattle skyline was shot from Ella Bailey Park which is located on Magnolia’s east side. This was my first visit to this park and it turned out to be a wonderful choice for capturing the May 5, 2012 Super Moon, there were only a handful of people watching as the moon rose.

Autumn Fern-The Unfurling
by Skynnard on May 27, 2011 in Blog, Image Galleries with 2 Comments
I love my garden this time of year. All of the perennial plants are emerging from hibernation and growing to fill in the emptiness of the winter garden. This will be the 6th year that this particular garden has been maturing and is now just coming into its own.
Smith River, Jedidiah Smith Redwood Forest
by Skynnard on May 18, 2011 in Blog, Image Galleries with No CommentsOn your way to Stout Grove you will encounter the Smith River running along side the Jedidiah Smith Redwood Forest. When you can see the river the first thing you will notice is the amazing jewel blue-green color (yes this is really the color) of the river, twisting and turning through rocky canyons and swift rapids.
I would highly recommend seeing this area if you have the opportunity.
Stone Lagoon, Humboldt County California
by Skynnard on May 17, 2011 in Blog, Image Galleries with 2 Comments
This peaceful and tranquil setting is Stone Lagoon. Stone Lagoon is one of three lagoons (Stone, Large and Freshwater lagoons) that comprise the Humboldt Lagoons State Park in Humboldt County California. This beautiful area of the California Coast is located between Eureka California and the Oregon border just off highway 101.
The shallow lagoons are separated from the wild pounding waves of the Pacific Ocean by a sand bar and are the resting place of many species of wildlife. Well worth seeing on your next trip down the coast.

One of my favorite view points for Seattle is of course Kerry Park on Queen Anne Hill. It is especially beautiful in the late afternoon sun on a pre-spring day.
